Developed as an improvement of the original MiG-17, the “Fresco-C” variant was of the later variants in the line.

Developed as an improvement of the original MiG-17, the “Fresco-C” variant was of the later variants in the line. With a new engine and improved control systems the type was able to take on more advanced opponents, though it was still subsonic and featured no guided missiles. Even with these basic characteristics, it became one of the most prolific jets of its era, with 1685 manufactured of the nearly 11,000 MiG-17s produced.

Featuring the new Klimov VK-1F afterburning engine, the Fresco-C now had a massive 25% increase in power, permitting it to chase down the powerful supersonic enemies such as the American F-4 Phantom. Though its top speed was barely supersonic, the type could out-climb and out-energy many of its opponents, with excellent energy retention in dogfight. Additionally, there was an upgrade to the flight control system, with boosted ailerons and elevator to combat the higher speeds. This also reduced the effort from the pilot necessary to sustain maneuvers.

Operated by the Egyptian Air Force, this MiG-17F was camouflaged with a sandy “Nile Valley” livery which reduced its observability to enemy forces. It was used to try and reclaim the Sinai Peninsula area which had been taken by Israel during the 6-day war. Die-Cast version has an accurate paint scheme, etched panel lines, pad printed decals, optional landing gear and display stand to show the model in flight. Measures 6.25”l with a 5.25” wingspan at 1:72 scale.

  • Features a high-quality paint scheme, etched panel lines and pad printed decals that reflect the “Nile Valley” camouflage used by the Egyptian Air Force.
  • Antennas, reflective lights, and surface details have been carefully added to the model, including probes and gun barrels.
  • Includes deployed or retracted landing gear, display stand to show the aircraft in flight, and a pair of optional fuel tanks for the wings.
  • Has an opening canopy and pilot figurine that can be placed in the cockpit.
  • Measures 6.25”l with a 5.25” wingspan at 1:72 Scale.
  • Highly collectible and officially licensed by Mikoyan Gurevich.
