Recognized across the globe as one of the most fearsome and powerful aircraft of all time, the United States’ F-22 Raptor is a hallmark for the 5th Generation Fighter era.

Recognized across the globe as one of the most fearsome and powerful aircraft of all time, the United States’ F-22 Raptor is a hallmark for the 5th Generation Fighter era. Taking the ethos of sharp angles, advanced fly-by-wire controls, and sophisticated datalink, the Lockheed proposal was extremely promising. Victorious from the Advanced Tactical Fighter competition of the 1990s, the emerging Lockheed YF-22 concept defeated its rival Northrop YF-23 and begun its journey into history.

Featuring a radar absorbent “stealth” coating, thrust vectoring engines, and internal weapons bay, the Raptor cut no corners in the search of air superiority. With up to 6 of the deadly AIM-120 AMRAAM missiles and a pair of extremely agile AIM-9X Sidewinders, no foe was permitted an easy escape. Each of its thrust-vectoring Pratt and Whitney F-119 engines produced up to 35,000 lbs of thrust, permitting speeds up to 1500 mph, or Mach 2.25. This power to weight ratio and excellent aerodynamic efficiency also lead to other benefits, such as extreme maneuverability and ability to “supercruise” at past the speed of sound without the use of fuel-thirsty afterburners! This trait is important, because it contributes to longer time on station and father range while retaining a high rate of speed.

Produced from 1996 to 2011 by Lockheed Martin, a total of 195 Raptors were officially manufactured, including the 8 test aircraft. This specific one is nicknamed “Spirit of Tuskegee” and belongs to the 477th FG stationed at Elmendorf AFB in Alaska. It carries the traditional cloudy silver and grey camouflage with its inscribed nickname on the tail, along with the full set of air-to-air missiles and fuel tanks. Die-Cast version has an accurate paint scheme, etched panel lines, pad printed decals, optional landing gear and display stand to show the model in flight. Also includes the full set of weaponry and moving tail surfaces! Measures 10.25”l with a 7.5” wingspan at 1:72 scale.

  • Features a high-quality paint scheme, etched panel lines and pad printed decals that reflect “Spirit of Tuskegee” in service for the 477th FG of Elmendorf Air Force Base.
  • Antennas, reflective lights, and surface details have been carefully added to the model, including attention to the internal weapons bays and moving tail surfaces.
  • Includes deployed or retracted landing gear, display stand to show the aircraft in flight, and multiple configurations of internal weapons.
  • Can be displayed with fully “clean” and closed weapons bays, or open with a full set of guided missiles, guided bombs, and fuel tanks onboard.
  • Has an opening canopy and pilot figurine which can be placed in the cockpit.
