With its distinctive hump, the Sikorsky H-34 is one of the most recognizable helicopters in the world.
With its distinctive hump, the Sikorsky H-34 is one of the most recognizable helicopters in the world. Originally used as a medium transport aircraft with the armed forces of 25 countries across every continent, the H-34 was brought to prominence during wars in Algeria and Southeast Asia. This PlaneTag was made from a real Sikorsky HSS-1/SH-34G Seabat helicopter, manufacturer serial #58-165. Delivered to the U.S. Navy as 140121 in December, 1955 as one of the 215 anti-submarine models, it was re-designated UH-34G in 1962. While stationed at Michigan’s Grosse Ile Naval Air Station, the ‘copter was partially damaged in a fire involving a fuel truck and a C-119 Boxcar. Because they are made from aircraft metal, each PlaneTag bears the color, thickness, and wear and tear from the portion of the aircraft from which it was cut; therefore, no two PlaneTags are exactly alike—each one is an individual work of aviation art. Not recommended for children under 8 years of age. This product contains chemical-based paint which may cause respiratory irritation if ingested or inhaled in large quantities. Keep out of mouth.
