Developed in the 1970s as a response to the incoming Russian MiG-25, the McDonnell Douglas F-15 was intended to take hold of the skies in defense of the United States.

Developed in the 1970s as a response to the incoming Russian MiG-25, the McDonnell Douglas F-15 was intended to take hold of the skies in defense of the United States. With powerful engines, massive fuel capacity and deadly air-to-air capability, nothing would stand in the way of its superiority. By the time the MiG-25 was captured from a defected pilot, it was discovered that this menacing fighter was not as terrifying as it once appeared. It was heavy and cumbersome, with unreliable engines and poor turning performance. At this point, the F-15 was understood to have vastly out-developed its opposition, proving to be a monster on the battlefield with an undefeated air-to-air win ratio.

Just two decades after first flight of its legendary predecessor, the F-15E Strike Eagle was introduced to the world. An advanced multirole version of its predecessor, it boasted new conformal fuel tanks, dual seat cockpit, more weapons pylons, and air-to-ground capability. It also took on the new Pratt & Whitney F100-220 afterburning turbofans, with nearly 20% higher thrust to offset the increased weight. Serving as part of several nations armed forces, the venerable F-15E is among the greatest to ever cross the skies.

Registered as 90-0244, this F-15E Strike Eagle is part of the 366th Fighter Wing of Mountain Home Air Base. With over 5 decades of history, this squadron is well known for its excellence, currently operating over 50 Strike Eagles over the skies of Idaho. Die-cast replica features engraved panel lines, pad printed details, authentic paint scheme, and cockpit with pilot figurines. Also includes pre-installed replica weaponry and posable display stand. Measures 7.75”l with a 5.25” wingspan at 1:100 scale.
